Patient Rights & Responsibilities
كلينكا نفرتيتي ذ.م.م · Clinica Nefertiti L.L.C
The Arabic version of this policy is the one approved by the clinic and prevails. This English version is published for convenience.
We believe good care begins with respect, clarity and mutual trust. This document explains patients' rights and responsibilities through consultation, treatment and follow-up, and does not reduce any rights established by the applicable health legislation and standards.
Part one: patient rights
1. Respect and safe care
You have the right to be treated in a way that preserves your dignity and respects your privacy and your personal values, without discrimination, and to receive care in a safe environment from a qualified team, within its scope of practice and licence.
2. Knowing who is responsible for your care
You have the right to know the name and position of the person providing your care and their role in the consultation or procedure, and to ask for clarification about anyone present at an examination or involved in a treatment.
3. Clear information and a say in the decision
You have the right to a clear explanation of your condition and the options proposed, covering the expected benefits, the risks, the alternatives, the limits of the results, and the aftercare.
You may ask questions and request further clarification before making a decision, and tell the team about any language or communication needs so that understanding the information is made easier.
4. Informed consent, and refusing treatment
You have the right to make your treatment decision freely, after receiving the information you need, with the appropriate consent completed before the procedure.
You may refuse a proposed procedure or ask for it to be stopped, with the possible medical consequences and the steps needed to protect your safety explained to you. Any financial consequences are discussed in line with the applicable policy and legal rights, and are not used to pressure you into accepting treatment.
5. Privacy and confidentiality
You have the right to privacy during consultation, examination and treatment, and to have your health information and records handled confidentially.
Access to information, or sharing it, is limited to authorised people and bodies, for permitted purposes and in line with the applicable requirements. You may ask that people not directly involved in your care are not present.
6. Images and promotional use
You have the right to know why medical images are taken and how they are used and stored.
Images needed for medical documentation are different from images used for marketing. Consent to treatment or to medical photography is not permission to publish images or a personal experience.
Promotional use requires separate, specific consent. You may refuse it, and doing so does not affect the quality of the care you receive.
7. Clarity about costs
You have the right to know the cost of services and packages and their terms before paying, and to receive an invoice setting out the amounts paid.
Any additional procedure and its cost are explained and your consent is obtained before it is carried out. The payment, refund and booking policies are available for you to read.
8. A second opinion, and your records
You may request a second medical opinion, or ask for a report or a copy of the medical information you are entitled to receive, subject to the verification procedures and the applicable requirements.
Asking for a second opinion does not adversely affect how you are treated or the quality of your care.
9. Follow-up and safety
You have the right to appropriate instructions for the period after a procedure, and to know which symptoms call for contacting the team or seeking urgent care.
You may report pain, discomfort or any change in your condition so that it can be assessed and dealt with appropriately.
10. Feedback and complaints
You have the right to give feedback or make a complaint without fear of being treated adversely, to know how it is being followed up, and to receive a response to it.
You may also approach the competent health authority, and you are not required to waive any right in order to make a complaint or to receive care.
Part two: patient responsibilities
1. Giving accurate information
Please share the information needed for a safe assessment, including health conditions, medicines and supplements, allergies, previous procedures, and pregnancy or breastfeeding where these are relevant to the treatment, and tell the team about any change.
2. Asking when something is not clear
Please ask for clarification if the treatment instructions, risks or cost are not clear, and do not sign a consent before you understand what it contains and have had answers to the relevant questions.
3. Following instructions and keeping the team informed
Please follow the agreed instructions before and after the procedure, and tell the team if you have been unable to follow them, if unexpected symptoms have appeared, or if you have received another treatment that could affect the plan.
Not following the instructions does not automatically remove the patient's legal rights, but it may affect the safety or the outcome of the treatment.
4. Keeping to appointments
Please arrive at your appointment time, and get in touch if you are running late or cannot attend, in line with the Booking, Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy.
5. Respecting others and their privacy
Please treat the team, other patients and those accompanying them with respect, look after the clinic's facilities, and do not photograph or record other people without the necessary permission.
6. Financial obligations
Please pay the agreed amounts in line with the payment terms, and ask about any cost that is not clear before agreeing to a service.
7. Acting on behalf of someone else
When contacting us or making a decision on behalf of another person, please make your capacity clear and provide what is needed to verify the authorisation or legal guardianship.
